ECAs – Export Credit Agencies
In our country, Exim banks are state institutions that insure export and investment loans. They assess commercial and political risks in the investor's country, similar to country loans. The primary objective is to encourage and support the return of export proceeds by guaranteeing it to exporters.
The system also has privately owned institutions, such as the Austrian Eximbank OEKB. Other well-known organizations include Germany's Euler Hermes Aktiengesellschaft, France's Coface, Italy's SACE, Netherlands’s Atradius, U.K.’s UKEF, and the USA's US Exim.
Investment loan maturities generally vary between 5-15 years. However, this may differ by sector and include a grace period of 1-2 years.
